Full-length program
Mimography, staging and representation: Peter Mim
His art never goes out of fashion.
He is still one of the most beautiful myths of art until today.
The greatest comedian of all times Charlie Chaplin becomes alive again trough Peter Mim as a tramp, clown and a dreamer.
With slapstick, sentimentality and self-mockery Mim delves into the world of the doyen of comedy who deceased in 1977 - Charlie Chaplin, the eternal clown, whose role is one the most popular roles of our time, animates, amuses, caricaturest, flirts and plays, skilfully involves the audience in his everyday stories, always with the necessary sensitiveness, with very much elegance, with an irresistible charm.
The Charlie represented by Peter Mim is in no case just a brilliant double.
With much esprit, precision and excellent body language, Mim plays genuine scenes and themes from Chaplin's silent movies: The shaving scene from "The Great Dictator", "Charlie's Breakfast", "The Table Ballet" from "The Kid" and "The Circus", "Shoe Eating" from "The Gold Rush", "The Small Man With The Large Heart" from "City Lights", "The Tramp and his adventures" from "Modern Times".
Supplemented by the harmonious background music from the original music from Chaplin's films, the artist succeeds in creating an unbelievably authentic atmosphere.
Charlie makes the spectators laugh, spreads joy and a good mood.
The public is involved in the tricks and everyday life tragedies.
The slapstick show ends with an intended disenchantment of the moment and a philosophical homage.
A perpetual laughter parade.
A perfectly successful synthesis between entertainment, fascination, poetry and satire.
