Plastic Theatre "Pygmalion"

Myths - Mysteries-Visual Poems

Mimography, idea and direction Peter Mim

Actor: Peter Mim, Radina Todorova

Participants: Peter Mim Theatre company

The fantastic movement theatre produces own interpretations of the most well-known myths of Greek antiquity with its gorgeous troupe and visualizes narrations from the world of Finnish legends.

In a touching, beautiful dream of pantomime, body magic, plasticity, play and music the bodies of the masterful pantomimes and dancers merge in a fascinating light and spectacle and form surreal bizarre sculptures with an astonishing effect.

On the one hand Peter Mim's etudes are based on the classic tradition of an art which has become rare - the art of the mimodrama.
On the other hand however the artist often experiments with forms of another field - those of the visual theatre
The actors create an abstract second level, let metaphors without words speak, form symbols and three-dimensional narrations.

The Peter Mim Theatre company also deals with sensitive, philosophical topics: Emergence and birth, existence and development, love and hope, perfection and freedom.

"Pygmalion" is an own narration in the mystical etudes program, however this title was selected for the entire full-length program.
The reason for this is can also be found in the deep symbolism - pygmalionism as the buddhist approach to the destination?
As the way which leads to which leads to the created piece of art remaining eternally even though man can no longer exist - a message which the artists are able to convey.

The plastic theatre "Pygmalion" creates a world between poesy and emotions, illusion and reality.
Subtle symbols which stimulate to think and reflect oneself.

Dance, choreography and movement illusions at times in a synchronous, at times in a dissociating entity, accompanied by classical and modern music and by an effective light design, unite to a synthesis of the arts of the highest level and representational quality.

Duration: approx. 90 min.

Music: Benjamin Britten, Jean Sibelius, Edward Grieg, E. Morricone, themes from Bulgarian folklore and meditation music.
